Which One Are You?

22c0edbacf2835342cdfc592bf7c4b13

I am a combination! I am not entirely a match for the writer.  I am a perfectionist, but not with writing.  With my writing, I am messy. It is hard for me to finish projects. My head isn’t totally messy. I don’t have cobwebs up there.  I do have material up there. Yes, I am passionate– about everything— however, I am not a know-it-all. I do know my limits even though I test them… Daily. I learn.

The poet seems a better fit. Not quiet, but not loud. I am observant and detail-oriented– that goes with being a perfectionist. The productivity and struggling with words is right-on!

Which one are you?

Ginsberg–

“Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It’s that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that’s what the poet does.”

—Allen Ginsberg

Poetry exposes a poet’s inner soul. We take our deepest, most private thoughts- some we wouldn’t dare tell another soul– and create beautiful poetry. When we are quiet, we are thinking or observing. At least, I am. How about you?

Whether you are quiet or not, a poet or a writer of a different genre, keep writing! People want to read what you are creating!

Don’t Change

change

People cannot change.
We  try controlling
our own destiny.
But when fate comes knocking–
She plays tricks on relationships.
‘Causes collateral damage.
People try morphing
into who they aren’t meant to be
to placate others
for happiness and harmony.
It lasts for a while
until it fades away–
because people do not change.
Do they?

And Weekend…

13245253_10156978060620707_1315805840075631347_n

Gonna try to work today (if my monsters let me, ahahah). Poke around the blog here, and see what I can fix.

Try to write. It’s been busy these last couple of weeks. Writing on the run. Appointments. Kid-stuff.

I have NOT caught on to writing from my cellphone. Yes, I will be one of those grannies her grand-kids will forever be teaching new things.

But it’s okay, I am gonna be a hip granny.

When I am home I feel like I’m trying to catch up from being gone. Maybe my writing suffers a bit. I try to give it my best.

Some posts Word-press gives me the big eff-you. It looks good from my end, but it doesn’t always turn out that way. Being the perfectionist I am it has to look right.

I wanted to thank you all for being so patient with me as I am learning, and hanging around to read my blog!

Have a great weekend!

My Aspiring Poet

Teaching my eight year-old daughter about poetry this afternoon. She loves reading mine. She cheers me on.

Today I am cheering her on!

With her amazing imagination and her attitude, she could write anything she wants. Her plays are awesome!

Hopefully, she writes more poetry.

She couldn’t wait for me to post her poem, and hopes you all like it!

Day NINE- Writing Challenge

Day NINE- Words of Wisdom that “speak” to me.

I LOVE quotes! I believe they have power to make a person feel good. Quotes are inspiring, funny, and encouraging.

I feel like quotes are special. When I look at certain quotes it is if the writing them knew I would be in a similar situation– so they wrote it just for me.

My “Top 15” Quotes. Maybe they will ease the “Monday Blues?”

One– “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.”
― Oscar Wilde

Two– “Sometimes you wake up. Sometimes the fall kills you. And sometimes, when you fall, you fly.”
― Neil Gaiman

Three– “Without music, life would be a mistake.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche

Four– “It’s the possibility of having a dream come true that makes life interesting.”
― Paulo Coelho

Five– “Always do what you are afraid to do.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Six– “My past has not defined me, destroyed me, deterred me, or defeated me; it has only strengthened me.
― Steve Maraboli

Seven– “Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul
And sings the tune without the words
And never stops at all.”
― Emily Dickinson

Eight– “I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.”
― Maya Angelou

Nine– “The world breaks everyone, and afterward, many are strong at the broken places.”
― Ernest Hemingway

Ten– “Every heart sings a song, incomplete, until another heart whispers back. Those who wish to sing always find a song. At the touch of a lover, everyone becomes a poet.”
― Plato

Eleven– “Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.”
― Leonardo da Vinci

Twelve– “We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect.”
― Anaïs Nin

Thirteen– “I write for the same reason I breathe – because if I didn’t, I would die.
― Isaac Asimov

Fourteen– “The role of a writer is not to say what we can all say, but what we are unable to say.”
― Anaïs Nin

Fifteen– “And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.”
― Sylvia Plath

Learning as I Go.

I have posted almost every day this month! I love being here– writing, and posting. Keeping the blog going has been some work! But I do enjoy it immensely.

Some things I think are working for me:  Setting time aside to write every day, and figuring out some sort of posting schedule (still working that out).

What isn’t working so well:  Juggling the challenge and trying to write poetry/stories/prompts. I want to write quality posts so you keep coming back!!

With doing the challenge, I didn’t realize it would consume so much time. It is quite alright. I don’t mind. However, if you would rather see more poetry I can work on that, and do the challenges on a certain day like Sundays when I won’t be on much.

Or another day of the week. I am open to suggestions. Or if you like it the way it is– that is fine, too!

Another thing not working so well is scheduling the posts ahead of time when I have something to do. Sadly, I have responsibilities first before I can write. I have to adult. I haven’t quite caught the hang of it yet. I make mistakes, and then have to run back and fix it!

I want to thank you all for being so patient with me, reading my blog, and as always feel free to let me know what you think!

Or if you want me to read your work, I will certainly give you my opinion!

Have a wonderful day,

Lynne
