Is He Calling You?

The Lake of Fire is
overwhelmed with tormented
souls. Reclaim yours-
Salvation is near.
Ask and receive what is promised.
God loves his creation–
You he adores.
He has plans for you.
What were you meant to do
for his glory?
What is your calling?
Always– he is with you.
Wherever the wind blows you.
He wants to be your Protector.
To see you home safely with him.
Heaven. Our eternal home.
Reunited at once.
With those we lost.
Happy forevermore.

Poetry Challenge

Global Epidemic © LC 2017

The world is changing–
hate spreads like
a toxic disease.

I keep challenging myself to try new forms of poetry. This is a “lune.”  A lune is an “American Haiku.

It contains 13 syllables. 5-3-5. Try it!

Childhood Bliss

Childhood Bliss.

Skipping rocks, racing–
bikes, children laughing, ice cream
truck– Tag!! You are– “It!”
The street lights flicker.
Time to hurry home now OR
you’d be in “trouble.”

I had a childhood before technology took over!

I’ve included a recipe for chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches. 11 variations. When I was younger, they were a favorite!

Dream Prompt-

Beach Nightmare.

Sun scorched sand burns my
feet. We run toward crashing blue
waves. Noise. So loud! The
earth is mad! The sky
is darkened with black fighter
jets. The ground shakes. The
jets start firing toward people.
“I told you.” / It’s black.

From prompt– Write a poem based on a dream you had. Try to reproduce the sensations of the dream.

This is from a dream I had after we came home from our beach trip. In my dream, it was the same time next year. No, I don’t want to return to the beach again next year. But it’s not only the dream..

Assigning Blame

Assigning Blame.

It’s a stressful week
when in-laws come to visit.
Typical. How the
poison flows from parents to
children. Polluting the mind.
Why do the kids fight?
Because parents are.
