My poem yesterday stunk. I wasn’t satisfied with it. I need to get back to writing and making it a habit. I thought the prompt would be helpful, but it was frustrating!
It was frustrating because I’m out of sync. I am out of sync because I’m not writing.
My life has been a little overwhelming over the last year. Maybe a little more than a little.
It is part of my routine to help organize and facilitate home-school for the kids. They are doing awesome! It’s been a fun adventure. However, we have also struggled with misfortune– some of our family members battled illness while others with more serious health problems. My father-in-law with Bladder Cancer and my sister with Intracranial Hypertension. (Sn: My father-in-law is now cancer-free, but my sister may have to have surgery.)
Mix in some familial and relational problems. It’s a rocky road. My life is never normal on this note. Nor will I ever expect it to be.
Then, the seasonal depression sunk in over winter. The cold and darkness doesn’t agree with me. Winter has a choke-hold on Spring, and he’s winning..
The wind is wicked. Messing with the power like a naughty kid flipping the light switch! Snow lazily falling from the sky.
Not making time to write.
I am over it.
Time to find my motivation, again.
Made our pancakes this morning because it is Saturday! As big as the pan! Remedied waking up feeling like a bear by drinking the equivalent of a pot of coffee. I’m good here!
Ready to start moving. How about you?
Inclined to agree! I love to write. Although, it can be a bit of both.
When the words don’t come, it is torture. When they do, it is fun!
When you feel pressured and blocked up, you wanna scream!
It’s awesome to have a flow going. Keeping it going can be hard sometimes!
Hope everyone has a great day,
I have posted almost every day this month! I love being here– writing, and posting. Keeping the blog going has been some work! But I do enjoy it immensely.
Some things I think are working for me: Setting time aside to write every day, and figuring out some sort of posting schedule (still working that out).
What isn’t working so well: Juggling the challenge and trying to write poetry/stories/prompts. I want to write quality posts so you keep coming back!!
With doing the challenge, I didn’t realize it would consume so much time. It is quite alright. I don’t mind. However, if you would rather see more poetry I can work on that, and do the challenges on a certain day like Sundays when I won’t be on much.
Or another day of the week. I am open to suggestions. Or if you like it the way it is– that is fine, too!
Another thing not working so well is scheduling the posts ahead of time when I have something to do. Sadly, I have responsibilities first before I can write. I have to adult. I haven’t quite caught the hang of it yet. I make mistakes, and then have to run back and fix it!
I want to thank you all for being so patient with me, reading my blog, and as always feel free to let me know what you think!
Or if you want me to read your work, I will certainly give you my opinion!
Have a wonderful day,
Ready to write? Are Mondays hard for you?
I have a hard time conjuring up motivation on Mondays.
How do you stay motivated on a Monday?
Coffee in hand. I’m gonna give it a shot!
Have a great Monday!
